[Kunming, PR China] – The Asian-International Trade and Investment Association (AITIA) is forging golden opportunities for Thai fruit farmers and entrepreneurs to aggressively enter the Chinese market. This follows an invitation from the Administrative Committee of the Kunming Economic and Technological Development Zone for an in-depth discussion and a study visit regarding logistics and supply chains in Yunnan Province.

Exploring the Potential of the Largest Distribution Center Mrs. Chamaiporn Cheucharern, President of AITIA, along with association representatives, conducted on-site visits to two key locations: the Kunming International Supply Chain Demonstration Center and the Yunnan International Logistics Industrial Park. The delegation visited the Import-Export Distribution Center, considered the largest of its kind in China, to assess its capacity to handle goods.

The Economic Development Zone demonstrated its readiness by highlighting its capabilities in green food processing, as well as its warehousing and cold chain logistics systems, which are crucial for maintaining the quality of agricultural products.

Opening Doors for Thai Fruit Trade to the International Stage A key focus of this visit was the official executive meeting regarding the upcoming “China-ASEAN International Fruit Procurement Fair (Kunming),” scheduled for May 2026.
The Kunming Economic Development Zone expressed a strong desire for AITIA to lead a delegation of Thai farmers and fruit wholesalers to the event. The goal is to facilitate direct “Business Matching” with buyers at the distribution center. This strategy aims to reduce intermediary steps and mutually promote the growth of fruit import and export between Thailand and China.

Opportunities for Thai Products in the Chinese Market Currently, imports into China are divided into six main industrial categories: vegetables, fruits, meat, grains, tea, and coffee. “Thai Fruits” remain in high demand, particularly:
- Monthong Durian: Primarily imported from Chumphon province, these are harvested directly from Thai orchards and sent to this distribution center for grading and maturity checks before being distributed across China.
- Other Fruits: There is also a continuous increase in the import of dragon fruit, coconut, and rambutan.
Simultaneously, China exports quality fruits such as apples, grapes, and oranges to various countries, including Thailand.

Continuing Cooperation for a Sustainable Future AITIA has fully accepted this collaboration and utilized this opportunity to present key Thai projects, including Thailand E-Commerce Selection Expo 2026 (TESE 2026) and Farm Expo 2026, inviting Chinese entrepreneurs to participate.
The discussion concluded with success, as both parties reached an agreement to act as a “bridge” to promote sustainable economic exchange, trade, and cooperation between Yunnan and Thailand.
