AITIA and Kunming Partners Promote Thai Durian Trade, Generating Orders Exceeding 1,000 Tons Worth Over THB 150 Million

On 12 June 2026, at the Kunming Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center in Yunnan Province, China, the Asian-International Trade and Investment Association (AITIA), in cooperation with the Kunming Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee, organized the “Thai Durian Procurement Conference” under the theme “Durian Connects ASEAN, Friendship Connects the World.”
The event aimed to strengthen agricultural trade cooperation between Thailand and China while creating new market opportunities for premium Thai durian products.


Mrs. Chamaiporn Chuecharoen, President of AITIA, led a delegation of more than 30 Thai durian growers and entrepreneurs from the Thai Durian Regional Public Brand Association to participate in the conference. The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Bin He, Deputy Director of the Kunming Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee.

The event also featured presentations by Dr. Phopsak Pansithong, President of the Thai Durian Regional Public Brand Association, and Mr. Narobdee Phadungcharoen, Chairman of Farm Expo, highlighting the quality and market potential of Thailand’s premium agricultural products, particularly community-based durian brands.

A key highlight of the conference was the signing of a cooperation agreement among Yunnan Hongyun Logistics Co., Ltd., AITIA, the Thai Durian Regional Public Brand Association, and Farm Expo. Business matching sessions were also organized to facilitate trade discussions between Thai and Chinese enterprises.
As a result of the negotiations, purchase orders totaling more than 1,000 tons of Thai durian, valued at over THB 150 million, were secured. The achievement marks a significant milestone in expanding Thai agricultural exports to China and creating sustainable economic opportunities for Thai farmers.
