On the morning of August 22, to build upon and deepen the achievements of Director Lü Jinsong’s visit to Thailand on May 16, as well as to implement the contents of the MOU signed with the Guizhou Provincial Department of Commerce, Mr. Montri Pongpan, President of the Asian-International Trade and Investment Association, led a delegation to visit the Guizhou Provincial Department of Commerce and held a discussion meeting. The meeting focused on expanding international trade through cross-border e-commerce and other trade facilitation methods to enhance Guizhou’s foreign trade presence in Thailand and the Southeast Asian region. The discussion was chaired by Director Lü Jinsong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Commerce, with the participation of Mr. Montri Pongpan, President of the Association, Mr. Wu Zhiyi, Honorary President, and Mr. Li Yuanzhang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Association.
Mr. Montri Pongpan stated that the Association is committed to promoting trade and investment services within the Asian Free Trade Zone, with over 1,300 member enterprises from various industries. In recent years, with China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the Association has strengthened its interaction with Chinese industries, achieving significant cooperation results. Mr. Montri Pongpan also invited Director Lü Jinsong to lead a delegation to Thailand in 2025 to participate in the “Thailand Cross-Border E-Commerce Selection Expo.” During the event, there will be “ASEAN Enjoy Guizhou Products” and the “Guizhou Trade and Investment Promotion Conference in Thailand” to further strengthen Guizhou’s economic and trade relations with Thailand and Southeast Asia. Additionally, the Association plans to organize “Thailand Brand Guiyang Tour” in Guizhou in 2025.
Mr. Wu Zhiyi, Honorary President, provided additional details regarding Guizhou’s visit to Thailand, the Association’s visit to Guizhou, and cross-border e-commerce cooperation between both parties.
Director Lü Jinsong concluded the meeting by assigning the International Trade Division of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Commerce to be responsible for follow-up coordination and drafting the 2025 cooperation plan. After the meeting, Director Lü Jinsong and Mr. Montri Pongpan exchanged gifts as a token of goodwill.
Both parties expressed their commitment to leveraging their strengths, using trade exhibitions as a bridge to enhance mutual development, and further promoting Guizhou-Thailand cooperation in 2025 to new heights!
