On February 6, 2025, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, the Kingdom of Thailand and the People’s Republic of China signed 14 Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) covering a wide range of cooperation areas, including the digital economy, artificial intelligence (AI), space technology, green energy, and agriculture. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Thai Prime Minister Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra and Chinese Premier Mr. Li Qiang, marking a new chapter in Thailand–China relations.
This landmark event reaffirms the two nations’ commitment to strengthening bilateral ties across government, academia, and industry, aligning with the long-term vision for a comprehensive strategic partnership centered on innovation, sustainability, and people-to-people connectivity.
Key Highlights from the 14 MOUs Signed
- Promoting AI collaboration and joint development of artificial intelligence applications
- Accelerating the digital economy, including investments in cross-border e-commerce and smart logistics
- Integrating customs systems and aligning trade facilitation standards between Thailand and China
- Establishing joint AI laboratories and deepening space cooperation through China’s Chang’e 7 lunar mission
- Enhancing cooperation in green energy and peaceful uses of nuclear technology
- Supporting Thai agricultural exports, including seafood products, under new health and quarantine protocols
- Fostering media and information exchange, as well as postal service innovation
These initiatives align with the mission of the Asian – International Trade and Investment Association (AITIA) to build bridges between Thai and Chinese businesses, and to facilitate access to advanced technologies, knowledge exchange, and high-impact trade opportunities.
