China and Thailand Advance Cooperation in Education and Future Energy Development, Preparing to Sign MOU for Workforce Development

On 21 July 2026, the Special Committee for Energy Industry Integration under the China Energy Research Society, led by Ms. Lu Huijuan, Vice Chairperson of the China Energy Research Society, held discussions with the Association of Private Higher Education Institutions of Thailand (APHEIT) and representatives from leading Thai universities to strengthen cooperation in education and human resource development for future energy industries.
The meeting focused on developing academic programs, promoting faculty and student exchanges, and enhancing joint research initiatives aimed at preparing a skilled workforce to support the rapidly growing energy sector in Thailand. Particular attention was given to the solar energy, energy storage, and new energy vehicle (EV) industries, where demand for qualified engineers and technical personnel continues to increase.

Thai representatives proposed beginning with short-term training programs and elective courses to quickly equip students and professionals with industry-relevant skills before expanding toward specialized long-term curricula. Both sides also emphasized the importance of establishing clear roles and responsibilities through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
This collaboration represents a significant step toward strengthening the integration of education and industry between China and Thailand. It is expected to support future Chinese investment in Thailand’s energy sector, enhance workforce capabilities, and create long-term opportunities for sustainable economic and technological cooperation between the two countries.
