On May 16, 2024, the “China (Guizhou) – Thailand Economic, Trade, Cultural, and Tourism Cooperation Forum” was grandly held in Bangkok. Li Bingjun, Governor of Guizhou Province, attended the forum and delivered a speech.

In his speech, Governor Li Bingjun mentioned that in November 2022, President Xi Jinping visited Thailand, where both countries announced the establishment of a more stable, prosperous, and sustainable China-Thailand community with a shared future, marking a new era in China-Thailand relations.
He stated that the purpose of his visit to Thailand, accompanied by key enterprises from Guizhou, was to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of both nations and to deepen practical cooperation between Guizhou and Thailand. Governor Li introduced Guizhou’s overall development and promising economic outlook. He expressed his hope that this forum would serve as an opportunity to leverage the benefits of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and RCEP policies, further strengthening cooperation in cultural tourism, manufacturing, agriculture, and trade with Thai business associations and enterprises. He emphasized the importance of fostering open collaboration with neighboring countries and regions, working together to explore new mutually beneficial opportunities.

During his remarks, Monthree Phongpan, President of the Asian International Trade and Investment Association (AITIA), introduced Thailand’s economic development and investment advantages. He highlighted that Guizhou’s strategic location and strong growth potential offer excellent opportunities for advancing economic, trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges between China and Thailand. He also emphasized efforts to promote economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Guizhou and ASEAN countries, while exploring new mechanisms for collaboration between local governments and industry associations.
President Monthree stressed the importance of deepening exchanges between China and Thailand, supporting national development strategies, and working towards the prosperity of both Guizhou and Thailand. He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation,fostering people-to-people exchanges, and contributing to the building of a new era China-Thailand community with a shared future.
During the forum, the Guizhou Provincial Department of Commerce and the Asian International Trade & Investment Chamber signed a cooperation agreement, further advancing practical cooperation between China and Thailand.
