July 22, 2025 – The Asian-International Trade and Investment Association is pleased to report on the significant visit of a delegation from the Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Commerce, People’s Republic of China, to Thailand. The delegation, led by Mr. Wan Yonghua, Deputy Director-General of the Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Commerce, was joined by representatives from Thailand’s Department of Commerce and its private agricultural sector to discuss and explore avenues for enhanced trade and investment cooperation.
This visit is a positive testament to the growing confidence in the potential of Thailand’s agricultural sector and its related industries.
Morning Session: Focusing on Agricultural Research and Development
At 10:00 AM, the delegation paid a courtesy call on Mr. Pipat Weerathaworn, a Distinguished Expert, and executives from the Agricultural Research Development Agency (Public Organization), or ARDA. ARDA is Thailand’s leading agency in driving research and technological advancement in the agricultural field.
The meeting’s objective was to exchange information and discuss pathways to foster cooperation in agricultural R&D, a critical foundation for improving the quality and efficiency of agricultural output for both nations.
Afternoon Session: Exploring Agricultural Machinery and Technology
Later, at 2:00 PM, the delegation proceeded to the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) for a meeting with the Industrial Machinery and Metalworking Group. They were warmly welcomed by Ms. Wuttipan Archanuparb, Treasurer of the Industrial Machinery and Metalworking Group, and Ms. Emmpavee Sirawanwit, Chair of the Agricultural Machinery Industry Group.
Discussions centered on the capabilities of Thai agricultural machinery, innovations, and technologies that meet the demands of modern farming. This provided an excellent opportunity to establish business networks and promote the export of Thai agricultural machinery to the markets in Wuhan and the greater Hubei province.
The visit by the Wuhan delegation highlights a clear interest and confidence in the full spectrum of Thailand’s agricultural industry, from upstream research to midstream machinery and technology. The Asian-International Trade and Investment Association is confident that these discussions will serve as an important starting point for developing concrete cooperation and creating sustainable, mutual economic benefits for both nations in the future.
